Inspired by a deep appreciation for nature, Erin Morphy's artwork is grounded in colour and mood. Based in Ottawa, a move to Sarasota, Florida, in 2005 is where Erin's creative journey began.
The colours were so different than that of the Canadian landscape. Her palette changes organically depending on the landscape she finds herself in. Yellows, teals and turquoise when in the warm climate of Florida, rustic greens and earthy tones when working in Canada. A move to Sedona, Arizona in 2016, where Erin spends her winter's, will inspire her next palette.
Erin starts with a feeling that can be inspired by light or a brief moment, and the painting evolves organically from there. She feels compelled to translate the environment in which she lives, in order to express her gratitude and for incredible beauty.
