Mary Pfaff

Rich in surface texture and luscious layered colour, Mary Pfaff’s evocative, expressive paintings and drawings explore life experiences and emotions. Her work is inspired by the mysterious beauty of nature and celebrates the sensuality and physicality of paint. She creates abstract compositions that investigate form, colour and texture.

Pfaff artistic interests lie in the spiritual in art and the profound connection to the ability of art to empower and transform individuals and communities.

Mary’s pieces offer people an opportunity to pause and lose themselves in something absorbing and to imagine new possibilities.

Since graduating with distinction from the faculty of fine arts at the University of Ottawa in 1990, her works are shown in solo and group exhibitions in Ottawa, Toronto and New York. Pfaff’s work can be found in the City of Ottawa public art collection, most notably at Centrepointe theatre and are purchased by private collectors throughout Canada, California, the United Kingdom, Australia, Africa and New Zealand.
